These positions may include paver operators, blade/motor grader operators, roller operators, materials drivers, ready mix drivers, tack truck operator-drivers, and heavy equipment mechanics.

These are skilled positions involving the safe and efficient operation of various types of heavy construction equipment including but not limited to Trackhoes, Backhoes, Dozers, Rollers, Graders, Skidsteers, etc.

Heavy Equipment Operators/CDL Construction Drivers – Job Functions:

Must know the consistency of material and understand compaction techniques.
Proficiently operate multiple of company core equipment, which includes, but not limited to compactors, excavators, articulated trucks, loaders, backhoe, ready mix equipment, etc.
Must comply with the operations and maintenance guide for company core and secondary heavy equipment.
Perform a daily heavy equipment walk-around inspection and preventive maintenance (grease, check fluids, tires, cleaning) and completed daily equipment log.
Must be proficient in operating one or more types of construction equipment (see positions above).
Perform job responsibilities safely in a busy, sometimes, stressful environment while operating and working under varied weather conditions around trucks and personnel.
Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules.
Understand the value of teamwork and communication with others necessary to operate onsite construction activities; grading and excavating, etc. efficiently.
Follow site grading and operations plans, read grade stakes and operate in a fine grade environment and other duties assigned or necessary.
Read and interpret plans. Safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Operate basic machine tools. Ability to demolish concrete without chopping edges.
Operate equipment in close quarters of people, employees and customer.
Understand utility marking and know how to dig around them. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Ability to compute and set grades using laser equipment.
Must have experience with concrete and asphalt in fine grade environment.
Must be proficient in two or three major construction activities (grading, pipe laying, demolition, etc.)
Follow site grading and operations plans, read grade strakes and operate in a rough to medium grade environment.
Requirements:

Must have experience with one of the following positions; paver operator, blade/motor grader operator, roller operator, materials driver, ready mix driver, tack truck operator, and/or heavy as equipment mechanic.
Must be able to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s; ability to add subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Must have basic understanding of equipment in heavy civil construction and possess strong work ethic.
Rely upon instruction and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Physical requirements: manually lift/carry 50-100 lbs., stand and walk for long periods of time, carry tools/equipment, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit and crawl for a long period of time.
Perform all required tasks during extreme weather conditions (hot/cold).
Schedule:

Monday – Friday (some Saturday’s).
Hours: 60+/- per week (Time ½ after 40 hours).
Day shift, starts at 7:00 a.m.
Compensation/Pay Period:

$16.00 – $25.00 per hour (DOE).
Paid weekly, every Friday.
