The latest innovation from Packers Plus Energy Services Inc. is providing operators with higher efficiency plug-and-perf systems worldwide. The TREX™ Cemented Product Line now offers composite and degradable plugs to improve deployment and reduce/eliminate mill-out operations, saving time and reducing risk.
The suite of frac plugs includes: Lightning Composite Plug, LightningPLUS Composite Plug and LightningBOLT Degradable Plug. The Lightning plug has a combination of composite and cast-iron slips, while the LightningPLUS has fully composite slips. Both plugs have a short length that enables fast deployment and quick mill-out operations. The LightningBOLT degradable plug is designed with proprietary material and provides optimal degradation times to minimize debris left in the wellbore.
The plugs are rated up to 10,000 psi differential and can be run in conditions up to 300˚F. Each plug is paired with a ball to provide zonal isolation and, with over 2,300 installed in North America, operators are seeing faster mill-out operations from a shorter plug design and composite slips.
“Our Lightning plugs can be used in regular plug-and-perf operations, or combined with other TREX products to provide a hybrid completion solution for extended reach laterals,” said Packers Plus President Ian Bryant. “These unique plugs provide oil and gas operators with improved operations and reduced risk that will ultimately result in lower cost operations for our customers.”
The Lightning plugs are part of the Packers Plus TREX™ Cemented Product Line, a suite of high-quality technologies designed to increase the efficiency and reduce the operational risk in cemented completions for operators worldwide. A flare alternative that also evaporates flowback and produced water.
Hydroflare is a the latest from HYDROZONIX. It is a flare alternative that also evaporates flowback and produced water (fracked wate0. Do you have remote wells where gas gathering is difficult or not cost effective? These types of wells usually have higher produced water disposal costs. What if you could use field gas from your remote well to evaporate produced water. Well now you can.
www.hydrozonix.com), employs an enclosed flare to destroy the well offgases and harvests the resulting energy to evaporate wastewater. According to Mike Pawlowski, senior technical sales manager at Ship & Shore Environmental, this the first technology available to the hydraulic fracturing market for onsite evaporation of produced water. The process — called Hydroflare — works by connecting the source of well offgases to an enclosed flare burner. “The resultant heat from the flare is passed to a tower or stack, which includes spray nozzles to mist the produced water into the high-temperature discharge of the burner section,”

Hunting’s H-2 cluster gun packs higher charge performance in a shorter footprint than any other perforating system
Hunting Energy Services, a subsidiary of Hunting PLC, the international energy services company, has announced it has developed the shortest plug-and-play, perforating gun system capable of firing up to four shots per 7.5 in. cluster.
The H-2 Perforating SystemTM features EQUAfrac® shaped charges in a single plane configuration, creating the shortest gun length on the market. H-2 simplifies loading and arming by utilizing proprietary charge puck and Shorty ControlFire® cartridge technology to eliminate detonating cord.
The H-2 system is ideal for high gun per stage operations and scenarios where rig up length is limited. H-2 will be available in a 3 1/8-in. gun diameter, which is an optimal size for well completions with 4 ½-in. and 5 ½-inch casing.
The Shorty ControlFire cartridge improves upon proven technology by housing the ControlFire switch, detonator and pressure bulkhead in a convenient, wireless package that is now more efficient. This eliminates the need for tandem subs and shortens the overall tool string.
The Shorty ControlFire cartridge also eliminates the need for wiring and contains the industry-leading ControlFire switch. The ControlFire switch has a success rate of 99.999% over 3 million runs and allows for up to 100 guns per run.
Does not require detonating cord
Utilizes Shorty ControlFire® Cartridge
Utilizes charge puck for gun loading
No tandem subs or ports
Shortest footprint available
Simple gun loading and arming
Reduces seal points
Maximum shot to length ratio
Capable of over 100 guns per run
