America oil drillers ended 2017 with a total of 7,493 DUC wells according to the latest report by the United States Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Permian Basin Drilled but uncompleted wells have more than doubled, up from 1,270 to 2,777 or 118.7%.
US oil output is expected to continue to rise in February with production from shale rising by 111,000 barrels per day to 6.55 million bpd, the US Energy Information Administration said on Tuesday.
